In early 2025 we launched Aftergame on the web! We have built a full version of the Aftergame app available on any web browser. Going forward, all our features will launch on both the mobile app and web browser. On a mobile phone, we still recommend the mobile app so you can get benefits like push notifications and better integration with the operating system, however the web app is perfect for those unable to install the Aftergame app.
We wanted to share the web app with you as early as possible, which has meant that there are some issues and limitations while we bring the web app up to scratch. Below is a list of known issues which we will update as we fix them or learn of more.
Purchasing Aftergame+ is not possible.
→ We are not yet able to accept payments / manage your subscription on the web. This is only possible on mobile (which is annoying because Google and Apple take a 15-30% cut!) All Aftergame+ features, like repeat events and filtering, will work as normal, this just affects starting/managing your subscription.
Links do not have a nice preview when sharing on other platforms like Facebook or Discord.
→ Unfortunately the underlying technology we use to support both the mobile and web apps with one codebase does not yet allow us to do this, however they have planned to launch this in 2025. In the meantime, clicking the share icon in the app generates the old links (via aftergame.co) which do have the preview, so linking to those rather than the new web app (aftergame.app) will still work as expected.
Calendar integration / adding events to your calendar is not yet supported.
→ There is more work needed here to support this universally.
Performance issues after using the web app for a time → There seems to be an issue with how we cache local data on web (which ironically, we do to keep things loading quickly). If you notice the web app being slow, clearing the site data will make things work smoothly again. We are looking to see how we can change the underlying technology we use which is causing this issue.
