One of the key features for conventions is the Plan a Game feature. This enables players to organise a group of people to play a game. It’s a good idea to plan some official games hosted by the event and encourage others to add games they’re excited to get to the table.

How to Plan a Game

To Plan a Game, fill in the details. Some boxes will be auto-filled once you select your game.

1. Posting as You can host the game as yourself or as your group. If you’re hosting as a group, you have the choice to claim a seat for yourself or not. Tick the box to claim a seat.

2. Game

   Type in the text box to find the game you want to play, then select any expansions that you’ll be playing with.

3. Basic Game Info

   The default settings are that the game is a regular game open to everyone regardless of their experience level, the game will accommodate the minimum and maximum listed on the box, and you expect the game will take the amount of time the box says it will. If you would like to change any of these settings, tap anywhere in the basic game info bar to open and edit those details.

• Players - The minimum and maximum player count will be auto-filled for you but you can tap the text box and change them to suit your needs.
• Duration - If you’ve played the game before, you should have a good idea of how long you expect it to take. If you haven’t played the game before, definitely add some time to the default.
• Game Type - You can host a playtest, a demo, or learn to play, in addition to regular games. Depending on the game type you choose, there will be a box you can tick to indicate if your game needs a teacher or you’re using a prototype.
• Experience Level - You can allow anyone to join or request that anyone who claims a seat already has experience with the game. You might want experienced players, for example, if it’s a complex game and you don’t want to spend 45 minutes teaching it before you start.

1. Event Name

   You can change the name by tapping on the text box and typing a new name. You might for example, change “Carcassonne” to “Carcassonne Tournament”.

2. Description

   In the description, you can explain how the tournament will work.

   This box is also useful to give any additional info to people joining your game. Some types of things you might like to note:

   • No drinks allowed on the game table.
   • I want to play X faction in the game.
   • Our group is hard core about this game so it’s best if you’re also pretty experienced.

3. Date and Time

   Make sure you double check AM/PM.

4. Location

   This will be set to the event location. You can add instructions to help folks find the table. If your event has a floor plan, you can drop a pin. This can be done on the day when you know where your game will happen.

5. Privacy

   Tap Who can see it? to change your privacy settings for this event.

   1. Private - event will be visible only to the people you invite
   2. Group - event will be visible only to members of the group you’re using to create the event
   3. Public - event will be visible to everyone in your area

Create your game

Once you’ve entered all the details, tap Create event in the top right corner. This will add your game to the list of games happening at your event.

The list of event games is found in the Full schedule (above) on your event page.

The schedule (shown right) is presented chronologically and can be filtered and sorted for easy browsing.
