Log a play

The easiest way to log a game is from the Home page. Apart from entering the game you played, everything else is optional and only needs to be filled if you’re interested in the stats that will be generated.

When you open Aftergame, tap + > ▷Log Play at the bottom of the screen or from any game page.

  1. Choose who sees the play log - By default, the log will be posted to the players in the game but you can also post it to one of the groups you’re a part of.

  2. Choose the game - You can type the name in the search box at the top or scroll through a selection of games from your collections.

  3. Choose the ruleset (not applicable to all games) - Some games have various rules, challenges, end game conditions, etc that you may want to track.

  4. Choose the scenario(s) (not applicable to all games) - select from the list of scenarios provided in the game or make your own.

  5. Duration - Tap Start timer before you start to time your game. When you log the play, the duration will automatically be recorded. Tap the pencil icon to enter the number of hours and minutes the game took to play if you didn’t time it.

  1. Add players - This may mean selecting the friends you played with or creating a guest player for a friend who isn’t on Aftergame. If you do create a player, you can connect them to a real person later on.

  2. Add non-players - If you had a teacher that didn’t play the game, a GM, or a judge, these people can be added to the log so they have a record of the game.

  3. Choose your team (not applicable to all games) - select your team from the list or make your own.

  4. Choose your characters (not applicable to all games) - If the game has roles, select them from the menu or make your own.

  5. Enter results - Enter scores if applicable. For most games, we will automatically detect the winners but you change them by tapping Won/Lost/Draw. If there are no scores, tap the results box to change what’s displayed.

You can enter multiple numbers into the score field and it will do the math for you, for example, enter 3+25+19-6 and it will show 41. You can go back and edit any part of this number string.

  6. Date - It will be auto-filled to reflect the current date but you can change it if you’re logging a game that happened before today.
